DOC IT FOUNDATION, Detect Ovarian Cancer In Time

DOC IT Foundation (Detect Ovarian Cancer in Time), is a 501(c)3 registered non-for-profit organization based in Miami, FL dedicated to ovarian cancer awareness.

Ovarian cancer is the leading cause of death from gynecologic cancers in the United States and is the fifth leading cause of cancer death among American women. Our primary mission is to help find a specific screening test and/or a cure for ovarian cancer.  Proceeds go to medical facilities and research institutions, because unfortunately pap smears and regular GYN check-ups do not detect it in time.  Often called “the silent killer” ovarian cancer often starts silently, not showing symptoms until its later stages.

DOC IT was founded by Martha and Susie Casado in 2006, when Martha was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer.  She fought until the end because of her children, her family and her love for life. At the same time, she was determined to help other woman avoid what she had to go thru and to make a difference in the lives of women. She wanted the world to know what ovarian cancer was and how devastating it was to become a victim of it. Martha died on November 4, 2008, but her will to live and her passion inspired everybody that met her.
