The 13th Annual Texas State Wine and Wildflowers Event

This year we will be returning to one of Texas' most loved cities, Fredericksburg, for another look at the National Museum of the Pacific War, home of the Admiral Nimitz Museum.

See a two-man Japanese submarine used in the attack on Pearl Harbor, a TBF Avengers similar to the one President George H.W. Bush flew, a PT boat identical to PT 109 that President John F. Kennedy commanded in the South Pacific, a prototype of the Fat Man atomic bomb, and many more artifacts of the Pacific War.

Dinner at the Inwood Estates Winery and Bistro will include an update from The Alumni Association of Case Western Reserve University, with guest speaker Ian Charnas (CWRU '05).  Charnas is the manager of CWRU's think[box], the new innovation and collaboration center.  His work blends art and technology in creatively-themed exhibits and events, including the World's Largest Twin Musical Tesla Coils, a Magical Mustache Mirror, and a Waterfall Swing.

12:30 p.m. Gather in the George H.W. Bush Gallery at National Museum of the Pacific War lobby for self-guided audio tour. Guests who wish to have lunch are encouraged to eat before arrival.

2 p.m. Visit the Pacific Combat Zone Arena simulating actual battle groud conditions and equipment on both sides of the conflict (optional guided tour).

3:30 p.m. Meet at the George H.W. Bush Gallery lobby to proceed to the Inwood Estates Winery and Bistro.

4 p.m. Appetizers and wine at Inwood Estates Winery and Bistro.

5 p.m. Dinner is served.  Options for dinner will be included at registration.

5:45 p.m. Remarks by CWRU representative from The Alumni Association and think[box].

RSVP by Monday, March 31, 2014.

We look forward to seeing you there!
