For twelve consecutive years, teams of Kellogg and University of Chicago-Booth MBA students have competed against each other in a real estate challenge. The competition is designed to bring the next generation of real estate leaders together with judges representing leading real estate firms. These projects promote the students’ learning by giving them hands-on experience in understanding business strategies in response to specific real estate development and investment opportunities.
The 2013 Challenge offers the opportunity for students to act as an emerging market fund manager with the mandate to invest $250 million in real property in Brazil. Each team will put together an investment plan, and the team with the most compelling and comprehensive plan will be chosen the Challenge winner.
