When & Where
Roadtrip Nation & University of Phoenix
Roadtrip Nation is a movement that empowers students to define their own roads in life through resources such as its annual public television series, live campus events, nationally publicized books, multimedia online content, and innovative educational programs. Its roots go back to 2001 when three recent college grads decided to take a Roadtrip in hopes of discovering their places in the world. The idea for the Roadtrip was simple: If you don’t know what to do with your life, go out and talk to people who are doing what they love and ask them how they got there.
Over 12 years and hundreds of thousands of miles later, students who have joined the Roadtrip Nation movement have documented the stories of over 1,200 individuals, resulting in an Interview Archive of over 3,500 videos. These stories are shared through a variety of platforms, including educational curricula, books, an annual public television series (currently in its 10th season), online tools at www.roadtripnation.com, and a school network on over 2,000 campuses.
Apollo Group and University of Phoenix:
Apollo Group and University of Phoenix Foundation are dedicated to being good corporate citizens by serving communities and individuals across the country. Through our corporate social responsibility efforts, we focus our giving in the areas of education, workforce readiness and sustainability.
With today’s youth facing unparalleled challenges when it comes to entering the workforce, we are teaming up with Roadtrip Nation to address that very issue. The Adult Roadtrip initiative provides young adult learners with learning experiences that can help them link their interests and studies to real-world career opportunities. Through Roadtrip Nation, three “ Roadtrippers” will be filmed for the PBS program Roadtrip Nation as they cross the country to learn more about today’s job market, understand more about themselves and their passions, and help to build a curriculum that will aid in keeping other students in school and working toward a career they love.
Another way University of Phoenix is constantly innovating to help young adults move efficiently from education to careers.
