Event Details

THATCamp, The Humanities And Technology Camp, is a free, open, interdisciplinary “unconference” where humanists and technologists meet to work together for the common good. Philadelphia’s second THATCamp will take place on September 27-28, 2013, at the Chemical Heritage Foundation Conference Center.

In the true spirit of THATCamp, THATCamp Philly will bring together a diverse group of academic and cultural heritage professionals who are interested in working together to build a strong, vital digital humanities community in the Philadelphia region. Participants will expand their skills, strengthen existing working relationships, and explore potential new partnerships in the interest of finding innovative ways to use technology for research, teaching, and learning in the humanities.

We are:

  • developers
  • scholars
  • curators
  • educators
  • designers

  • universities
  • libraries / archives
  • museums
  • cultural institutions
  • digital media innovators

As individuals, we each boast different digital media competencies and interests and are united by an irrational exuberance of the willing–willing to learn, to teach, to collaborate, to create, to pitch-in.

As a group, we represent a friendly peer network of novices and experts alike, dedicated (for now) to the exploration of new ideas, tools, and best practices in the world of digital humanities via forums, workshops, meetups, happy hours and whatever else suits our fancy.
