Texas Yoga Conference
The Texas Yoga conference is a yearly event that gathers the best yoga teachers and motivational speakers in Houston to offer a retreat full of presentations, yoga classes for all levels, lectures and fun music concerts during three complete days in Houston. In 2013 the event’s theme is compassion & friendship and will benefit Breathe the Cure (www.breathecure.org), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to educate the whole family about the many benefits of quality breathing techniques, meditation, and yoga as preventative and complementary treatment ofcancer and other diseases induced often by stress.
The three day agenda features prestigious presenters as well as practical sessions and interesting workshops. The list of presenters includes the star of the best-selling Bollywood dance DVDs with Hemalayaa; Sean Johnson & the Wild Lotus Band, Les Leventhal - one of San Francisco’s most beloved yoga teachers, New York’s famous Ragunath – former punk rock band leader, and many other famous yoga instructors as Theresa Murphy, Raghunath, Pradeep, Eric Shaw plus some of our Texas locals such as Gioconda Taylor, Adri Kyser, Amy Johnson, Jennifer Buergermeister, Ann Hyde, Catherine Allen and Robert Boustany.
In addition to the workshops, music and practical sessions, there will be exhibitors of healthy foods, natural products and unique sportswear from designers I Love Yoga, Autumn Tenyl, Victoria Keen and Luke’s Locker. The event will start with a Music concert on Friday March 1st featuring Latin, Folk and New Age music from David Berkeley, The Human Experience, Action Required Now, David Newman, The Sound and the Meaning, Silk Road Journey, Gypsy Dance Theater, Josh Fletcher, Willy Collins Band and The Bhakti House Band. Prices are really affordable, starting from $10.
