Event Details

The Texas Yoga conference is a yearly event that gathers the best yoga teachers and motivational speakers in Houston to offer a retreat full of presentations, yoga classes for all levels, lectures and fun music concerts during three complete days in Houston. In 2013 the event’s theme is compassion & friendship.  This year we are also excited about our welcoming gospel singers on Sunday morning and evening Mariachis to seranade us to the Hilton for a final weekend ceremony and cocktail hour.

The three-day agenda (see schedule online) features prestigious presenters as well as practical sessions and interesting workshops. The list of presenters includes the star of best-selling Bollywood dance DVDs, Hemalayaa; Dearbla Kelly, Moses & Zeina Love, Sean Johnson & the Wild Lotus Band;  Eric Shaw, Beth Shaw, Dana Flynn, Les Leventhal, John Salisbury, Sarah Luna, New York’s Ragunath - former punk rock band leader; plus some of our amazing Texas locals from all over the state.

In addition to the workshops, music and practical sessions, there will be exhibitors of healthy foods, natural products and unique sportswear from designers I Love Yoga, Autumn Tenyl, Victoria Keen and Luke’s Locker. The event will start with a Music concert on Friday March 1st featuring Latin, Folk and New Age music from such artists as David Berkeley, Action Required Now, Josh Fletcher, Joel Laviolette, Willy Collins Band and The Bhakti House Band. Prices for the concerts are really affordable, starting at only $15.00.

We recommend posting on our Texas Yoga Conference 2012 Facebook page any housing need requests if you are an attendee/presenter/sponsor who wants to find a host to provide you with a free place to stay. We have reserved a block of rooms at Crowne Plaza, Embassy Suites Downtown, Modern B&BHilton Americas Houston, and Hampton Inns Galleria.

Texas Yoga Conference

Founded in 2009 by the founder of Breathe the Cure, Inc., a Texas 501(c)(3), Jenny Buergermeister, who organized the annual event with local studios in Houston and support from all over the state.

Our Mission:  We inform adults and youth through educational materials, workshops, classes and trainings about the benefits of breathing techniques, meditation, and yoga to promote wellness. We believe yoga is a preventative and complementary treatment of diseases often caused by stress.  Our intention is to promote not only the teachers of the practice but yoga as a way of life for all fostering peace and wholeness for the masses.
