Program Outline

Program Title: Home Health Aide (HHA) & Nurse Assistant (CNA) Test Prep

Program Objective: The objective of this program is train students in all skills necessary to embark in a successful career as a Home Health Aide. At the same time we prepare those students to challenge and pass the CNA State Board Exam. Even though students can work as competent Home Health Aides upon completion of this course, the primary objective should always be to pass the Florida Certified Nurse Assistant State Board, and receive their licensure from the state. A certificate from Gabriel Health Institute in no way substitutes for CNA State License.

Program Description: Students will be trained in accordance to Florida Statutes. To provide their clients (residents, patients, etc.) with only the most dignified and respectful care, in the most efficient manner possible. This is NOT a fast track course. The purpose of this course is to prepare students to register and pass the "Florida Certified Nurse Assistant State Board Exam" as "E3/ E4 CHALLENGERS". Unlike fast track courses we do not cram and overload as much information into the students as the time permits. We focus on the essentials that will be tested on during the State board. We then bridge this knowledge to the skills required for Home Health Aide (HHA) work.

Credential Issued: Home Health Aid (HHA) Certificate & Nurse Assistant (CNA) Certificate (after passing State Board Exam)

Clock Hours & Curriculum: This course is comprised of 75 hours (24 Classroom, 51 Distance Learning) of CNA exam preparation & HHA training. Hours are split between 4 days of hands-on training and a “Home Study” or Distance Learning section.

Length of program: During the first initial week of instruction students learn all course content required to pass the State Board exam. 83.3% of classroom time is hands on practice, 16.7% is lecture related to skills performed in the classroom. Due to the gap in time between initial classroom time and approval to sit for the State exam… we have students return for another week of class before their exam in order to practice skills and ensure retention of all the required information. During this week the instructor will evaluate student progress and determine if additional practice is needed. Students will be assigned reading material and be given access to a Distance Learning program in order to prepare for written test of CNA/ HHA. This is also a means for Gabriel Health Institute to evaluate their progress remotely.

Graduation Requirements: 100% attendance for all classroom sessions. And 100% passing rate on test administered online. (Students are allowed to retake final test online for an unlimited amount of attempts. Only final grade will be counted.) Online practice is encouraged but not required.

Prerequisites and Admission requirements: To enroll in any CNA/ HHA class, the student must:

  1. Be 18-years old, or older
  2. Have a valid Social Security Number
  3. No Felonies related to Negligence, Drugs, or Fraud
  4. Have no physical or mental limitations precluding them from working as a CNA and/or Home Health Aide
  5. Have reliable transportation to and from the school/ office site

Unlimited Training & Flexible Customizable Schedules: We understand that not all students will retain the required information with just 4-days of training, which is why we encourage students to retake our entire course FREE of charge if they feel the need to do so. We have flexible, customizable schedules that allow students to train on their own time. Students are never tied down to one schedule (morning, nights, or weekends) always having the option to switch between schedules or make up for missed days. All schedules follow the same curriculum on the same day giving our classrooms a flexibility rarely seen in educational institutions.

Example 1: Sally is enrolled in the morning class. On Wednesday she can’t make it because of work. She simply lets us know, and shows up during night class instead. She can then continue night class, switch back to mornings, or come in the weekends.

Example 2: Brian took our class but failed to show up for day 3. His absence was unexcused because he did not let us know. It’s been 4 months since he took our class. When he finally calls in we give him the option to make up day 3 on any of our schedules… however we encourage him to retake the entire class again FREE as it would benefit him more in that situation.

Transparency Statement: We are NOT a traditional educational institution. Gabriel Health Institute is built on a modern business infrastructure that has never been done before. We are 100% completely devoted to the satisfaction of each student. Our staff can be randomly seen socially conversing with clients, joking around, many forming intimate friendships. We encourage this as it establishes a more comfortable environment for our students to learn in. Our incentives (such as FREE daycare, etc…) are counter-productive to our profit margins. We offer them because we genuinely want to make a difference in our community, and make our programs available for everybody. As a member of the “Castle Coalition: Network of Corporations”, we offer a variety of services such as tax prep, Livescan fingerprinting, auto & real estate brokerage, etc... All of our services have flat pricing and no hidden charges. It is our goal to form a long lasting relationship with YOU and welcome the opportunity to serve YOU again in the future.

Money Back Guarantee: All students of Gabriel Health Institute enrolled in the “CNA Exam Preparation” course are covered by this policy. If you fail the CNA State Exam after passing our course, receiving a certificate, and returning for practice at least once we will do the following. We will give you another class FREE of charge. The same class expectations apply on your second attempt. If you still failed on the second attempt we will refund the full amount of your class fees in their entirety. You will be required to show written proof of your failure to redeem your refund. Please keep in mind that fees refunded only include class fees received and are not responsible for any testing fees paid. This guarantee is specific to the skills portion of the State Exam. Furthermore outside of our “Money Back Guarantee”, there are ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS. There are a few exceptions which fall under the discretion of the director. To see what these exceptions are you can refer to the “Fees and Refund” section of our “Student Course Policy”.

Incentives for registration: We have many incentives for student registration not found ANYWHERE else. We will do everything to make you smile.
