Terrorism is more than just a tricky way to kill people. Its target is the sinews and continuity of the nation state. Consequently, one of the primary targets of terrorism is business. Transnational crime works the other way around. Focused on the looting and destruction of business, it thereby poses a danger to the economy of the nation state.
At this InfraGard meeting, we will explore the nexus of these threats to business and the nation with a presentation entitled "Terrorism, Crime and Business Continuity."
Dr. Dave McIntyre, former Dean of the National War College and currently Adjunct Professor of Homeland Security at Texas A&M's Bush School, will present a framework for thinking about these threats (and others) from a business perspective.
Mr. Dee McCowen, former FBI Field Supervisor and current Director of International Security for W.W. Grainger, Inc., will flesh out that framework with examples of real world threats to the survival of businesses, their customers, managers and employees.
SA Joel Holmes, FBI Houston Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Coordinator, will provide a brief overview of the FBI’s WMD program.
