Tequila & Mezcal: Terroir, Taste, & Hands-On Cocktails with Josh Wortman of New York City's Anejo

Saison welcomes you to join us for our March 4th cocktail class. This one will feature Josh Wortman, beverage director and head bartender at NYC's Anejo. You may have heard of Angelo Sosa, their chef-owner, who finished runner up on season 7 of Top Chef. Josh is a tequila and mezcal enthusiast through and through. He is respected in the industry as an expert in both agave spirits and whiskey. His margarita won Best Margarita in NYC in 2012, and he has taught classes as New York's Astor Centor, as well as helping open Sosa's newest endeavor, Poppy Den (opened 2013 in Las Vegas.) Josh was also a finalist in Bushmill's Irish Whiskey's "Make It To Bushmill's" Competition, has covered Tales of Cocktail for CitySip.com, and has written for satirical booze zine Maximum Cock & Tail.
Josh will discuss the terroir and process of creating tequila and mezcal, some of the great cocktails to be made using them, and will use a hands-on approach to equip each attendee to learn to make delicious agave cocktails at home.
Ticket prices include cocktails, a light snack, and flying in a great industry expert from NYC. Additionally, the evening of the class Josh Wortman will be guest bartending at Saison! As with all classes and events, attendees must have valid ID showing they are 21 or older.
