Hosted by actress and advocate Mariska Hargitay, and told by Detective Deirdri Fishel, "Telling Amy's Story", is a documentary that follows the timeline of a Domestic Violence homicide that occured on

November 8, 2001. The documentary will be shown in English with Spanish subtitles followed by a brief discussion on victim/survivors of Domestic Violence and community reaction and assistance.

The Northwest Suburban Alliance on Domestic Violence and the Human Services Programs and Office of Student Involvement of Harper College and Judson University.

The Northwest Suburban Alliance on Domestic Violence raises awareness and promotes prevention of Domestic Violence facilitating services which Break the Cycle of Violence in the Northwest Suburbs of Cook County IL. It is a collaboration of community agencies and representatives, law enforcement, educational, legal, and religious professionals. For additional information see our web site: www.endallabuse.org.

The Human Services Program of Harper College offers an Associate in Applied Science Degree, which provides the academic and experiential base necessary to qualify students for employment or transfer to a Bachelor's level education in Human Services or Social Work field. The "Human Services Experience" inside and outside of the classroom includes opportunities for experiential education, interactions with community resources, service learning, and ongoing application of the roles and responsibilities of a successful Human Services professional. The award-winning Human Services Student Organization, know as the HMS Club, provides professional development and service experiences to students as an extension of the Human Services Program. The Human Services program at Judson University establishes a solid theoretical base and concrete application skills. The curriculum in the Human Services major provides students with a marketable degree that benefits those looking for a career in the field or in pursuit of graduate studies. Students will conduct evaluate, and present research projects, develop assessment, counseling, and intervention skills, and learn how to advocate for vulnerable populations. Further, students will engage in experiential learning while completing an internship in a field agency.
