TEDxSMU 2012 Fall Auditions
Friday, October 19, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM (CDT)
Auditions for TEDxSMU are back, and even bigger in 2012! At our second round of auditions, we're looking for a Dallasite to knock our socks off with a short talk or performance that makes us "re:think."
On October 19th, we're partnering up with Dallas Social Venture Partners to host auditions as the capstone piece of its bigBANG! conference. We want your best stories, songs, poems...anything you can deliver in 3-6 minutes.
The top 8-10 entries will give a six minute talk at our TEDxSMU Audtions. At that event, the celebrity judges and audience will vote and the presenter with the most votes will be invited to speak at TEDxSMU.
If you want to attend the auditions, you may either purchase a full conference ticket for the bigBANG! (which includes admission to the TEDxSMU auditions) or purchase a ticekt here for the TEDxSMU Auditions.

Union Station, 400 S. Houston Street

When & Where
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxSMU, where x = independently organized TED event.
TEDxSMU debuted in October 2009 with a half-day conference for 7th-9th grade students (TEDxKids @SMU -- the first of its kind) and a full-day adult version of the conference.
At our TEDxSMU events, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized. www.TED.com/TEDx
