Event Details

Technology has created dramatic changes in the way elections are organized, conducted, and analyzed. Please join us at Tech@State:ElecTech as we examine these changes and discuss how they can be applied to diplomacy and development.  We’ll first hear about the latest digital strategies used during the US presidential elections and explore the tools and technologies that made these strategies possible. Turning to the international environment, we’ll then examine new and innovative ways to apply the lessons learned during the most recent US elections to elections overseas.

During in-depth discussions in afternoon breakout sessions and the Day 2 unconference, we’ll look at how new collaborative technologies have changed elections, discuss creative and innovative ways to use these tools, and chart a way forward to employ these tools to maximize their utility in strengthening civil society and democratic elections around the world.

Tech@State:ElecTech will take place over two days – November 30 and December 1 – in Washington, DC.  Day 1 is a conference format at the Jack Morton Auditorium, GWU Media & Public Affairs Building, 805 21st Street, N.W.  Day 2, an unconference where participants collaborate with other attendees to create their own agenda, will be held at the National Democratic Institute, 455 Massachusetts Ave, NW.

For the most current info, including an updated agenda, visit our website at http:tech.state.gov.

Tech@State is organized by the Department of State in partnership with the National Democratic Institute, the George Washington University Law School and MetroStar Systems.
