The Technovation Challenge Program
This spring, 43 high-school girls took part in the challenge to build the most innovative mobile app using Google's App Inventor for Android. The course was hosted by LinkedIn, and each team was supported by a high-tech female mentor and an undergraduate TA.
During the nine-week program, these talented young women participated in hands-on workshops covering design thinking, visual programming, communication, teamwork, and entrepreneurship.
The winning teams from each regional pitch night (in NY, LA and 4 sites in the bay area) will go on to compete in a national pitch night this May, where the grand prize is professional app development and distribution on the Android Marketplace.
