For a void, white space sure gets a lot of attention. You hear people say that something "needs more white space," "has too much white space," or you might read a list of design tips that simply tells you to "use white space." But what, really, is white space (or negative space)? How much should you use and how can you use it to create clean and minimalist design?
Mr. Kadavy will illuminate the role of negative space in disciplines such as sculpture, architecture, and music, while explaining how you can use this knowledge to understand the grid, create clean typography and layouts, and always use just the right amount of white space.
