- Do you wonder what data is transmitted and stored when people like a Facebook page or follow a cause on Twitter?
- If you support programs that serve marginalized communities or young people, are you curious about how to protect confidential information stored via social media and mobile apps?
- Do you worry about grantee safety because of the nature or content of their social media advocacy work?
Privacy issues, particularly related to mobile apps and social media, are garnering more attention, yet many organizations you support may not be aware of the risks in terms of vulnerable communities. This will be a cross-content discussion among funders about how to maximize positive impact while protecting the privacy of their staff, advocates and communities.
