Tech Cocktail & Downtown Project cordially invite you to Tech Cocktail's Lightning Talk Sessions, a monthly speaker series where a number of guests will give short talks about projects or topics they are passionate about. Whether you are a technology enthusiast, inventor, creator, entrepreneur, investor, developer, or designer, we are all linked by a passion for technology, innovation and starting up - and that's what unites these talks.
Tickets to the event are free but we are also accepting donations. All donations will be provided to a suicide prevention charity. We urge you to support the cause.

Gabe is the Community Liaison for SXSW (South by Southwest) festivals and the founder of Think Vegas Tech, a non profit focused on amplifying the entrepreneurial spirit and success of the burgeoning Vegas Tech scene. Through event marketing and community outreach, the organization works with local tech companies to highlight their efforts at a minimal cost to them. His organization's initial project is the first community representation at SXSW 2013 which is now close to a quarter million dollar production. The series of events is made possible by the organizations $150k in sponsorships, and almost equal amount of donations in products and services.

Partner / CCO, Science. Mike is a User Experience professional, advisor and entrepreneur located in Los Angeles. With a background in Interaction Design, Visual Design and Product Development, Mike has developed and improved products for over 14 years. His experience in creating multidisciplinary strategies and tactics to solve research, design, and differentiation problems has repeatedly lead to positive results.
Most recently Mike was the VP of User Experience and Design for Myspace. The majority of Mike's 14 years of leading companies in the area of User Experience has been in and around Silicon Valley for companies such as Aol, Intuit, TechTV and numerous startups. While he has a global presence in the greater Product Design community, his home and heart is in Los Angeles. He is actively involved with the local startup community as the founder of Twiistup which he sold in 2009 but continues to thrive in LA.
