Event Details

Tuesday 17 June 2014 may well be the most important day in your agenda this year, as TEAM UP bring you CHAIN REACTIONS. The event will bring together the different parts of the tea supply chain to analyse the issues and catalyse the actions needed to make it better and fairer for everyone involved.

CHAIN REACTIONS will provide you with information on:

  • Increased smallholder supply and mechanisation, and how they affect sustainability and livelihoods
  • The living wage agenda and important next steps
  • Sustainability in domestic markets and how the trustea program contributes to increased sustainability in the Indian tea sector
  • Challenging social issues such as discrimination, harassment and child trafficking, and how we can address them
  • How to make progress towards reducing poverty in alignment with the Millennium Development Goals and their successor

When purchasing a ticket please select either the day pass or full package (includes evening reception). With regret we can't make refunds.

This event is by invitation only. For all event enquiries please get in touch with jon.copping@ethicalteapartnership.org

Organizer

Ethical Tea Partnership (ETP) & The Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH)

The Ethical Tea Partnership (ETP) is a membership organisation of tea companies and retailers that was formed in 1997. It works with tea producers and companies across the supply chain to create a thriving tea industry that is socially just and environmentally sustainable. The ETP has local staff in Kenya, Malawi, Uganda, India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and China. Together with a set of partner organisations, the ETP exists to improve the sustainability of the tea sector, the lives of tea workers and smallholder farmers, and the environment in which tea is produced.

The Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH) accelerates and up-scales sustainable trade by building impact oriented coalitions of front running multinationals, civil society organizations, governments and other stakeholders. Through convening public and private interests, strengths and knowledge, IDH programs help create shared value for all partners. This will help make sustainability the new norm and will deliver impact on the Millennium Development goals.
