We are told teamwork requires good communication, the establishment of clear goals and objectives, clear roles and responsibilities, buy-in, support, trust, accountability and commitment. Team building exercises can be fun and provide an important stress reliever but they can also be seen as a waste of time if they are not relevant or well facilitated When integrated into organizational development efforts, team building efforts can help create a culture where all staff develop an understanding for and appreciation of how their role and the role of their colleagues contribute to the successful implementation of the organization’s mission and goals. This session explores best practices for how nonprofit organizations can reduce silos, increase the performance of teams, and solve problems more creatively and constructively.
