Graciela Zozaya is the trainer for the TDLR Applicant LCI Orientation class.
Graciela was born and raised in Mexico City and grew up in a bilingual home. She has lived in the US for over 22 years. She holds a degree in Education with emphasis on Social Work.
Graciela has been a trainer of potential, new and seasoned healthcare and community interpreters for over 4 years. She has achieved her CMI (Certified Medical Interpreter) National Certification and is currently pursuing her LCI and her CHI.
Graciela has sat on the Board of Directors of HITA and of the National Council for Interpreting in Health Care. She has been the Director of Professional Development for TAHIT (Texas Association of Healthcare Interpreters and Translators) for 4 years with her commission ending in December of this year. Graciela helped build the Healthcare Interpreter Training program for TAHIT and has been in charge of providing continuing education opportunities for the membership.
Graciela holds many years of experience in translation and voice over work. Her legal interpreting experience adds up to about 7 years.
Graciela is currently interpreting in the Courts for Immigration Review. She has passed strict courtroom language and interpreting training testing by the FBI and Lionbridge.
