Topic 1, 9am-10am: 2012-2013 Annual Governance Reporting Form for Open-Enrollment Charter Schools
Kathryn Jones, Program Specialist - Charter Schools Administration Unit, Texas Education Agency
This webinar is ideal for persons seeking specific information regarding the requirements of the newly automated 2012-2013 Annual Governance Reporting Form for Open-Enrollment Charter Schools, due to be submitted to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) from all charter schools no later than November 1, 2012.
The TEA is required by Texas Education Code (TEC), §12.119(b) and 19 Texas Administrative Code (TAC), §100.101 to collect information each year about the board members and school officers of charter schools. Beginning in 2012-2013, the Annual Governance Reporting Form for Open-Enrollment Charter Schools must be submitted electronically through the Charter School Tracking System (CSTS) and no longer will be accepted in paper format.
failure to completely and accurately submit the required information by the deadline may impact future requests for charter amendments. Additionally, charters must meet this deadline in order to ensure that their school information will be updated in the upcoming release of the Texas School Directory. The CSTS application is only available through the Texas Education Agency Login (TEAL), which will replace the Texas Education Agency Secure Environment (TEASE).
TEAL provides more flexible, secure access to TEA applications. Eventually, all TEA applications will use TEAL. Information about applying for a TEAL account, and answers to questions about both of the TEA’s secure environments, can be found at
