Nikki's expansive media career ranges from serving as a radio and television personality to show producer, media consultant and author. Woods studied education at Howard University in Washington D.C. and journalism at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois. Her journey in broadcasting landed her in various markets, including St. Louis, Boston and Chicago, before Woods became senior producer of the acclaimed, nationally-syndicated “Tom Joyner Morning Show,” where she is responsible for the engaging on-air content heard each morning on the over-100 affiliate radio stations that air the award-winning program. She also serves as an assistant professor at the Scripps Howard School of Journalism at Hampton University, in Virginia. Her body of work has been distributed on social media, broadcast, web and other media platforms. On The Hampton Roads Show she was the social media/pop culture correspondent aggregating digital trends and viral videos to engage the TV audience on social media platforms. On BET and BET International networks she hosted the shows, Mad Swagg, Music Around the Globe and covered The Oscars, NAACP Image Awards The BET Awards, BET Honors, and Black Girls Rock among others. April created and hosts the web entertainment site/show, The Media Brew, and has contributed as an expert on HLN network's The Jane Velez-Mitchell Show and Showbiz Tonight.
