A fifty mile walk over three days from the historic Taylors Falls, Minnesota library to the Minnesota State Capitol in St Paul carrying a donated book on the first part of its long journey to Afica. Participants will be asked to make a donation to BOOKS FOR AFRICA and solicit pledges from their friends. Please register if you think you might want to participate. That way we will be able to advise you of plans as they develop. Registering does not commit you to attending and ignore all the stuff about tickets!
Friday will finish at Meisters's in Scandia. Saturday we will walk from Scandia, through O'Brien and the former Anson land to the trail on the West side of Jackson Meadow. Here we will take a lunch break and then continue via the Hollow, 7 and Nason Hill Rd, Warner and the West side of Carnelian to the Gateway Trail. This day will finish at the Outing Lodge at Pine Point. Sunday we will walk the length of the Gateway Trail with a lunch break at the 55th Street picnic area East of Hadley(694 and 36). A point about a mile out from the State Capitol will be designated for those who want to only walk the last leg and attend the celebrations at the State Capitol.
It is anticipated that walkers will go home or to nearby motels at night. However camping can be arranged if we are given prior notice. Shuttle service to and from cars will also be provided.
IF YOU WILL BE A WALKER YOU ARE ASKED TO VIST THIS PAGE AND SIGN UP TO BECOME A TEAM MEMBER SO YOU CAN SOLICIT PLEDGES FROM YOUR FRIENDS AND MAKE A PLEDGE YOURSELF.
