Join Blue Jacket for a celebration of the Third Coast Sunday June 22nd from 12pm to 4pm. Blue Jacket Restaurant and Bar is planning the first annual “Taste of the Third Coast”: a local tasting event benefitting the Alliance for the Great Lakes.
The day will feature a pig roast, local music, a silent auction and community organizations that have a relationship with Milwaukee’s inner harbor locally and the Great Lakes regionally.
The event will highlight local food resources as well as ways to support the Great Lakes freshwater resources including using biodegradable serving vessels.
Participating restaurants include Blue Jacket, Odd Duck, Amilinda, Bavette, Hinterland, Circa 1880, Sanford, Ardent and Wolf Peach.
Blue Jacket will be crafting two signature punches for the event using local products, house made syrups and fresh juices.
Beverage tastings will be available from Great Lakes Distillery and Central Waters Brewing. Central Waters will also be selling additional product and donating all proceeds to the Alliance for the Great Lakes. Colectivo Coffee will be serving hot and iced coffee throughout the day as well.
“Tom and I are very excited for Blue Jacket to host our first annual Taste of the Third Coast,” said Laura van Heijningen, co-owner of Blue Jacket. “When we designed the concept for Blue Jacket we knew we wanted to host an event every year to generate proceeds that could be given back to an organization supporting the Great Lakes. Coming up on our one-year anniversary this is the perfect time to celebrate the wonderful resources of our Great Lakes Region.“
