This event is to benefit Odanadi, an organization that rescues and rehabilitates children sold into human trafficking. Every year in India, young people are lured away from their homes by criminal trafficking networks. Over the past 20 years Odanadi has carried out over 60 brothel raids and brought more than 140 traffickers to justice.

About Land Yoga Studios / Lara Land:
Lara Land opened Land Yoga Studio in Harlem in June 2011, the Studio immediately embraced as and embracing its role as an integral part of the community. Land Yoga gives free and donation based yoga locally to organizations including The Ralph Lauren Cancer Center, the Food Bank and at The Children's Storefront and other local schools. Land Yoga teaches programs for Girls Talk/Guys Talk, Friends of the Children, and the Incarnation Children's Center in Washington Heights.
Lara, Level 2 authorized Ashtanga teacher, traveled to India nine times since 2007 to study at the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute. She continues to go to India annually, taking groups of students and studying under Director R. Sharath and Saraswathi. In 2008/2009 Lara traveled to Rwanda to treat HIV positive genocide survivors and their children using Ashtanga Yoga. She continues to serve HIV positive communities in India and in New York.
In 2014, Lara produced Taste of India, a Bollywood-style fundraiser at Harlem's renowned Red Rooster restaurant which raised $10,000 for Odanadi, an organization formed to rescue children from human trafficking. Lara is currently producing the 2015 fundraiser; stay tuned for updates.
