First meeting of the Tampa Side SQL User Group.

I apologize for the delay - I kept looking for a speaker and finally decided this morning to lead the meeting myself.  I figure that with the discussion over name and future we won't need a long technical session.

Please note that the session will be kicked of by a mini presentation by Ed Watson - aka SQLGator.  This is his award winning Seven Deadly Sins of the Database Administrator lightning talk he delivered at Pensacola SQL Saturday.  He will have the honor of giving the first presentation at our new meeting.

We will then move on to discuss matter of the meeting's future.  Please be prepared to give me topics you want discussed in the future.

I will then give a short presentation - probably 30 minutes at least - discussing some of my favorite tricks for T-SQL coding that allow me some speed improvements in my report stored procedures.  I promise - no SSRS this time around.

The new location will be at the Computer Associates headquarters.  Our host is one of the PASS Board of Directors: Neil Buckwalter.

The location is:

10210 Highland Manor Dr
Suite 300
Tampa,  FL  33610

Our meeting will be in Room 302.  This is near I75 and MLK.

You will need to check in with guard at the front door letting the guard know you are with the SQL User Group - kind of like what we did at the Franklin Templeton Building.  Be aware that this is a secure building - so the front door will be locked.  If you get locked out please call me at 813.789.7756 and either Neil or myself will make sure you gain entrance.  Please do not arrive prior to 6:00 pm.

Food should arrive shortly after 6:00 pm. The meeting will start at 6:30 with our usual annoncements.

Please RSVP by signing up here.
