TAMPA BAY ROCKERS FOR VETERANS
Dale 1891 Gastro Pub hosting Rocktoberfest fundraiser Tampa Rockers for Veterans to benefit JCSE Veterans Association
TAMPA, Fla. – October 20, 2012 -- Dale Mabry’s premier eatery, Dale's 1891 Gastro Pub, is turning Oktoberfest into Rocktoberfest for Tampa’s music lovers and military veterans. On Saturday, October 20, 2012 the pub venue, popular for its food and brews, hosts a major music fundraising affair for TampaBay area returning military veterans. The outdoor, multi-band musical Octoberfest fundraiser begins at 1 PM and continues throughout the day and night, at Dale’s 1891, 11742 North Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, Florida. Entertainment includes an ongoing live music festival, a classic car show, phenomenal food and drinks, along with a variety of vendors and raffles. Admission is open to the public and ticket price is by donation only.
To honor their 50th anniversary, organizers of Tampa’s Rockers for Veterans has selected the local Joint Communications Support Element Veterans Association (JCSEVA), headquartered at MacDill Air Force Base, as their 2012 recipient of any charitable profits. Funds support JCSE’s welfare and morale programs, and to provide education scholarships to members and their families.
Event producer, Gary Rapoport, a tenured Bay area club and event manager, along with Tampa Bay Rocker for Vets, a philanthropic enterprise of local musicians and entertainment experts, and local sponsors have taken on the challenge of raising much needed funds to serve those who have served the United States.
“I have a heart for veterans and know that Florida has the most talented and generous musicians in the world, “said Rapoport, the show’s creator and producer. “Florida native Captain Dale Mabry was a real-life, military WWI aviator who gave his life testing airships for the U.S. This makes his namesake, Dale’s 1891, the most appropriate place to host one of Florida’s most anticipated veteran’s fundraisers.” Rapoport, a third generation restaurant and entertainment professional, is best known for managing iconic Florida rock-and-roll clubs such as Mark Twain’s, Power Company, 49th St. Mining Co., and Fern Park Station, along with the legendary Rocky Point Beach Bashes.
Because of his life-long connections in Florida’s music business Rapoport has successfully enlisted a line-up of Florida’s most beloved and landmark musicians and bands in every genre of rock, with more added weekly. A sampling of the entertainment roster is long-time Bay area artist Kenny McGee with the New Lefty, Argus, Stormbringer, Earl Brown, Jaded, Brett Edwards, Cross Traxx, Water Walker, and Shadow Chaser.
Five area food vendors have offered up their epicurean talents and will be creating an array of cuisines to partake in while enjoying a variety of refreshments. Along with good food, great drink, and the best music, patrons will also enjoy a classic car show and raffles of many donated prizes.
Vendor Tables are still available for $50.00, with all proceeds going to the JCSE. If you or your business would like to contribute gift items and/or gift certificates, please contact Gary Rapoport. Tax-deductible receipts are available. TBRFV and JCSE-VA would like to thank the benevolent and committed sponsorship of:
