About the Panelists
Jon Troutman is a User Experience Designer who most recently led product design at General Assembly where he focused on designing user flows that bridged online and offline experiences. He helped GA scale from a single community of users in NYC to a global network of campuses and online educationaly content provider. In addition to sweating the details from the user's point of view, Jon is an enthusiastic front-end developer who recognizes the relationship between clean code and good UX. While at GA, he wrote code and collaborated with the engineering team to rebuild General Assembly's website with a content-focused, mobile-first approach. He organizes an ongoing bare-knuckled, bow-tied event series called Designer's Debate Club. And most recently, Jon co-founded a startup where they are developing the simplest way for people to connect with their homes and families.
Kyle Parkinson is a user experience designer for Warby Parker, where he focuses on creating an easy, clean, and fun experience for purchasing glasses online. Kyle collaborates with the creative, tech, and analytics teams to ensure that site features and flows are fully optimized across multiple digital platforms. Prior to Warby Parker, Kyle worked in UX and information architecture across multiple industries including fashion, luxury, and consumer products. When he's not making wireframes, he's usually making good tunes and bad jokes.
