AAWAA presents an innovative series of literary and performing arts events hosted by guest curators that feature Asian American women artists performing in a variety of media including film/video, music, spoken word, and multimedia collaboration.
Pangu held up the Sky for 18,000 years. When exhausted, he laid his body down. The fleas on his body became the Humans... and humans began to scatter… Journey with Nancy Wang's ancestors on the high seas in 1850, crashing in the Carmel Bay, starting the Monterey fishing industry, and overcoming anti-Chinese violence to triumph! Then journey with Kenji Oshima's story as he explores his multi-ethnic experience. The GAPA Men's Chorus provides music for this multi-media concert experience.
