This event is a fundraiser for the Truckee Trails Foundation and Tahoe Area Mountain Biking Association(TAMBA). Update-We tried some promotional codes that people were having trouble with so we just cancelled the promo codes and lowered the pre-reg prices on the festival passes for everyone! This is the deal of the century! Prices at the festival will be $40/$30(under 21).
This is the bread and butter of the festival. We looked at what other similar festivals charge for what they offer, but we want you to attend so we strived to keep this priced as low as possible while still covering costs. There are two passes, one for those over 21($30), and one for those under 21 that does not include the beer/wine coupons and pint glass($20). The festival pass includes:

This is the final event of the 2012 Sierra Cup Cross-Country and Super-D Regional Championship Series for Northern California/Nevada. After the race awards on Saturday(XC) and Sunday(SD), the series podium ceremony will be conducted with the awarding of the USA Cycling Regional Championship Medals.
Thursday, September 20 at 5:30pm- SHORT TRACK:
The Short Track (or Dirt Crit) is a spectator friendly event that will pit the racers against each other on an approximately 1/2 mile circuit through the Village at Squaw Valley. The course will be about half pavement(cobblestones) and half dirt or grass. Do not be surprised to see some features added to delight the spectators. Registration/Number pick-up opens at 4:00pm, closes 15 minutes before each race. See list of categories racing together during registration process. Post event awards ceremony and product raffle around 8:30pm. Pre-Registration available online for $25, There is a $10 late fee for same day registration. The kids race is Free, but they must be registered by a parent or gaurdian. Each race will be based on a specified time, plus two laps.
5:30pm – Cat 3(Beginner)Men – 20 min plus two laps
6:05pm – Cat 2(Sport) Men – 25 min plus two laps
6:40pm – Free Kids Race (Ages 9 and under) – 1 lap
7:00pm – All Women – 20 min plus two laps
7:30pm – Pro/Cat 1 Men – 30 min plus two laps
Friday, September 21 at 10am- PEARL IZUMI MOUNTAIN HILLCLIMB
The Mountain Hillclimb will ascend the Service Road almost 4 miles from the Village to High Camp. Total elevation gain is nearly 2000′. Starting elevation is 6250′ and finishing elevation is 8238′. It will be a mass start. There is a $300 Purse to the 3 fastest Male and Female Riders. Registration/Number pick-up opens at 8:00am, closes at 9:30am. Racers meeting at 9:50am, Race Start at 10:00am. Post event awards ceremony and product raffle at 4:30pm. Pre-Registration available online for $25, There is a $10 late fee for same day registration.
Saturday, September 22 at 9:30am- CROSS-COUNTRY:
The cross country course starts up the service road and then after about two miles, cuts off for a singletrack descent back to the base with a couple short climbs mixed in. It is a 5.5 mile lap with 1250′ of climbing per lap. There are some technical sections to test your bike handling. The number of laps will be determined by category, the Pro/Expert Men will do 4 laps which is over 5000′ of climbing during the race! Most Cat 2 categories will do 3 laps, Most Cat 3 categories will do 2 laps, and the Junior Men 14 and Under and Junior Women 18 and under will do 1 lap. Registration/Number pick-up opens at 7:30am, closes at 9:00am. Racers meeting at 9:20am, Race Start at 9:30am. $300 Pro/Cat 1 purse for fastest times. Race is a 2013 Nationals Qualifier. Post event awards ceremony and product raffle around 4:30pm includes XC, XC Series, and DH awards. Pre-Registration available online for $35, There is a $10 late fee for same day registration.
Saturday, September 22 at 3pm- DOWNHILL:
The Downhill is designated by USA Cycling as the Nor-Cal State Championships! Anyone can compete, but only USA Cycling licensed racers are eligible for the USAC championships. The Downhill course hits some of the most technical singletrack trails on it’s way down from High Camp to the Village. There is excellent spectator viewing of the bottom of the course from the sun deck. Full face helmets are required and body armor is strongly encouraged. It is 3 miles long with a vertical drop of nearly 2000′. Due to the technical nature of this course, riders are encouraged to examine the course beforehand and stay within their abilities. Riders will start individually in one minute intervals. It will be a single run format. A cable car lift ticket good for Saturday is included in registration. Course will be open for practice from 1pm to 5pm on Friday and from 12:30pm to 12:30pm on Saturday. Registration/Number pick-up opens at 7:30am, closes at 2:00pm. Racers meeting at 2:45pm at the Start, First rider off at 3:00pm. $300 purse for fastest times. Post event awards ceremony and product raffle around 4:30pm (depends on number of DH entries) includes XC, XC Series, and DH awards. Pre-Registration available online for $35, There is a $10 late fee for same day registration.
Sunday, September 23 at 12pm- SUPER-D:
This is the Super-D your mama warned you about. With just enough climbing to make you sweat, the course features some steep fast sections, tricky technical sections and plenty of narrow singletrack. The course is 3.9 miles long with 2060′ of vertical and just over 100′ of climbing. Riders will start individually in one minute intervals. It will be a single run format. A cable car lift ticket good for Sunday is included in registration. Course will be open for practice from 1pm to 5pm on Friday and from 10:00am to 11:30am on Saturday. $35 Super-D entry by online pre-reg, $10 Late fee for same day registration. Super-D Registration/Number pick-up opens at 8am and closes at 11am. Riders meeting at the start at 11:45am.
STAGE RACE DETAILS
Register for all five races and you get a discount because you are hard core! You will select categories for each event during registration. The Stage Race winners will be based on cummulative time. You must finish all events to be eligible. Stage Racers in the short track will get a time based on their finish place within their category for 1st=1min, 2nd=2min, and 3rd=3min. All other finishers will get a time of 5 minutes towards the overall General Classification. All other disciplines will be actual finish time. For award purposes, Stage Race categories are Pro/Cat 1 Men, Pro/Cat 1 Women, Cat 2 Men, Cat 2 Women, Cat 3 Men, Cat 3 Women. We reserve the right to add or delete categories based on stage race sign-ups. Want a category just for you? Get your friends to sign up. Combined categories will always match XC distances. The stage race is only available by online pre-registration. It will not be available by race day reg.
REGISTRATION and OTHER DETAILS: A list of all categories and age groups will appear for each event selected during the registration process. Helmets required. Five riders to make a class, smaller classes may be combined. Awards to three places in all categories. Online registration closes on Tuesday, September 19 at 8pm PDT. 2012 USA Cycling mountain bike racing license required. Annual licenses available at www.usacycling.org. If you do not have an annual license, there will not be a charge for One-day licenses at this event! We are allowing one day licenses to race in the Cat 1 fields, however they will not be eligible for the Regional Championships and they will be listed separately in the results when USAC posts them. Race Day results will not be affected. If you have a Sierra Cup number plate, please enter your bib number when you register and bring your plate to the race.
LODGING: There are multiple lodging opportunities right at Squaw Valley. Book your stay at the Village at Squaw Valley. There are also several Forest Service Campgrounds along Hwy 89 near Squaw Valley.
