Join us for Symphonic Shakespeare in partnership with
Boston Landmarks Orchestra!
Drama of Shakespearean proportions in music and the spoken word. Actors from Commonwealth Shakespeare Company perform iconic selections from Henry V, Hamlet, and A Midsummer Night's Dream to music composed for those plays. Similar to CSC's American Voices script-in-hand readings, the actors will perform the text almost without staging, rather focusing on the vocal side of storytelling. The text will be performed sometimes over the orchestra, and sometimes alongside it, but the result is an aural feast of word and music.
Coriolan Overture - Beethoven
Music to Hamlet - Shostakovich
Hamlet - Dennis Staroselsky; Ghost of Hamlet - Bob Walsh
Henry V - Walton
Henry - Dennis Staroselsky; Chorus - Bob Walsh
A Midsummer Night's Dream - Mendelssohn
Bottom - Robert Pemberton; Titania - Siobhan Juanita Jones;
