Event Details

Event Description:

We will discuss the challenges professional services and IT departments typically face - like balancing the demands of delivering work, providing reactive support, and managing the associated resourcing implications through cycles of service demand. We will discuss how these challenges can be addressed. Specifically:

  • The best practices in supporting resource allocation to both project and support (or other non-project) work items
  • How to effectively establish an enterprise resource pool that includes teams, generic resources, cost resources and skills
  • The use of timesheets or a project status interface to capture actual resources spent on project and non-project tasks

Learning Objectives:

During this event, students will learn how to use Resource Plans to effectively plan for resource utilisation on non-project activities such as BAU and Support work. How to populate users timesheets with the detailed activities that represent the BAU or Support tasks on which they are working without creating a timesheet with hundreds of lines.
