About Chef Aram: Chef Aram Reed is a professionally trained and certified chef providing personal dining, private cooking instruction and catering services through the Chicago area. In 2008, he left the business world to pursue his passion for cooking and graduated top of his class at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu of Chicago. Chef Aram then furthered his studies by completing his Culinary Arts degree through a series of apprenticeships in Sorrento, Italy where he fell in love with the Italian culture, way of life and the regional cuisines.
Founded on August 30, 1946, the Japanese American Service Committee of Chicago originally served the needs of the Issei and Nisei (Japanese immigrants and their American-born children) who left World War II internment camps to resettle in Chicago and start new lives. As the needs of the community have changed over the years, so, too, have the programs and services provided by the JASC. The JASC is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit social services agency.
JASC engages people of all ages to experience Japanese American history and culture and to improve their well-being through innovative, high quality programs and services tailored to the multicultural community.
We accomplish our mission through the work of highly trained and enthusiastic staff and volunteers and proactive collaboration with other agencies and organizations.
