Founded in 2010, Surviving & Thriving is dedicated to building a supportive, encouraging community of women and men committed to changing the landscape surrounding violence against women and raising awareness and education around the challenging social issues of domestic violence and sexual assault. Through personally inscribed works donated by Maya Angelou and a silent art auction highlighting emerging Bay Area artists, this extraordinary event has raised over $20,000 since it's inception. All Surviving & Thriving proceeds benefit WOMAN, Inc. (Women Organized to Make Abuse Nonexistent) and SFWAR (San Francisco Women Against Rape) - two remarkable San Francisco-based nonprofit organizations that provide invaluable support to women survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in our community.
