David Shank has been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. In addition, there has been a serious mold condition found in the Shank home, which does not allow them to continue to living there or to take belongings with them. The Shanks' church family has come around them and has made arrangements for a place to live.
Dave will not be moving into his new home until he undergoes a successful bone marrow transplant in Richmond and then a 6-12 month stay in Richmond following that to be monitored.
Please pray for a donor match and a successful transplant.
How can you help? Could you eat some chicken? A chicken BBQ fundraiser is planned for August 9th to give a financial support to the Shanks.
100% of the funds will assist the Shanks with the financial burdens they are carrying at this time.
Buy a chicken half ($3.50 each) for yourself and/or buy mutiple chickens for friends and family.
The chicken will be barbequed on Saturday August 9th and will be available for pick up from 1030am-1230pm at Covenant Presbyterian Church.
1. Sign up for chicken via this site. You will be emailed a ticket number that you will need to present at pick up.
2. THEN Pay at pickup with Cash/check
Please make your check out to Josh Lookabill. I will be presenting a single check to the Shanks once all funds are collected.
Pay in advance via credit card. There is a substancial processing fee if payment is via credit card/debit card. No fee if paying cash/check at pick up.
If you fail to pick up your chicken at Covenant Presbyterian Church by noon (1230pm) on August 9th, your chicken will be resold and ticket number will be invalid.
AT PICK UP: When coming to pay and pick up chicken you only need to present 1 ticket to verify the order number associated with your entire purchase. You do not need to print out all tickets if you purchased multiple chicken halves.
Example: if you purchased 10 chicken halves you don't need to print out all 10 tickets. Just bring one ticket to verify your order number.
Thank you for your support and prayers for the Shank Family.
