Super Bowl XLVIII will be the 48th edition of the Super Bowl in American football, and the 44th annual championship game of the modern-era National Football League (NFL). It is scheduled to be held on February 2, 2014, at MetLife Stadium at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey with kickoff scheduled for 6:25pm EST, to determine the champion for the 2013 season. This will be the first Super Bowl to be played outdoors in a cold weather environment, the first in 38 years to be played outdoors on FieldTurf, and the first in which two US states (New York and New Jersey) will work together with hosting duties.

Seattle Seahawks

Seattle finished the season 13–3, winning the NFC West division and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Seahawks had the best defense in the NFL, giving up just 273.6 yards per game.

The Seahawks reached the Super Bowl by defeating the New Orleans Saints 23–15 in the divisional round on January 11, 2014. They then beat the San Francisco 49ers 23–17 in the NFC Championship Game on January 19, 2014. The victory was sealed when Richard Sherman tipped a pass intended for Michael Crabtree in the end zone and Malcolm Smith intercepted it off the deflection.

The Seahawks will be making their 2nd Super Bowl appearance, the first being Super Bowl XL following the 2005 NFL season, where they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Denver Broncos

Denver finished the season 13–3 for the second straight year, winning the AFC West division and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Broncos had the best offense in the NFL, averaging 457.3 yards per game.

Under the command of the offense was 37-year old Peyton Manning. In his second year as a Bronco, he set numerous NFL and franchise records. He threw for 55 touchdowns and as a team the offense scored a NFL record 606 points, becoming the first team in NFL history to score 600 points in a season.

The Broncos reached the Super Bowl by defeating the San Diego Chargers 24–17 in the divisional round on January 12, 2014 and the New England Patriots 26–16 in the AFC Championship Game on January 19, 2014.

The Broncos will be making their 7th Super Bowl appearance and first since Super Bowl XXXIII following the 1998 NFL season. This ties them for third with the New England Patriots in total Super Bowl appearances, behind the Dallas Cowboys andPittsburgh Steelers with 8 each.

Manning will become the third starting quarterback in Super Bowl history to reach the game with two different teams. Manning previously won Super Bowl XLI and lost Super Bowl XLIV as the starting quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts. The only other two quarterbacks to accomplish this are Craig Morton (who lost Super Bowl V with the Dallas Cowboys and lost Super Bowl XII with the Broncos) and Kurt Warner (who won Super Bowl XXXIV and lost Super Bowl XXXVI with the St. Louis Rams, then lost Super Bowl XLIII with the Arizona Cardinals). With a victory, Manning will become the first quarterback to start for two different Super Bowl winning teams.

Tonic Bar & Restaurant - Times Square

This three-level bar, lounge and restaurant brings the bright lights and flashy TVs of Times Square inside. Giant TVs hang behind the first floor bar, where local business folks mingle with tourists. A striking red dominates the cavernous main floor, while the second and third feel more intimate with booths and comfy seating.

For beer lovers, the tap selections cover ample ground, from Bass to Yuelinging (30 in all). Of the fruity, brightly colored martinis, the mandarin delivers a nice kick without tasting too sweet. The lengthy martini menu pales in comparison to the food menu that covers ground from onion rings and wings to rib tips and tuna steak.
