Expressions II: Summer Girl Group at Sunny Ridge
Does your daughter struggle with peer issues? Or seem to have a difficult time talking about adoption? Does she shut down when you try to talk to her? Sunny Ridge Family Center continues our Girl Groups this summer.
Each session combines fun and a therapeutic component to assist your daughter in gaining more confidence, managing her feelings in a healthy and appropriate way, developing her social skills, and processing adoption-related issues with others who are experiencing similar circumstances. Group includes team-building exercises, adoptee guest speaker, crafts, and movie clips / discussion time. We offer your daughter a fun, safe, and nurturing group with other girls her age. All group sessions are led by an Pam Shepard, LCSW, Supervisor of Parent Training and Adoption Counseling Services.
Who: Girls ages 9-12 who were adopted domestically, internationally or through foster care. A concurrent parent support group will take place each evening as well. (10 girls max)
When: Tuesdays, July 9, 16, 23 & 30, 2013, from 6:30-8:00pm
Where: Sunny Ridge Family Center, 270 Remington Boulevard, Suite C, Bolingbrook, Illinois 60440
Fee: $240 for the four-week series or $70 per individual session

In the event sessions are cancelled in their entirety due to low registration, a full refund will be made. Should individual sessions be cancelled do to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, a make up date/time ill be announced, with no refunds given.

Holt-Sunny Ridge Children's Services provides professional adoption services, adoption-competent counseling and therapy, as well as adoption related workshops and educational opportunities. Holt-Sunny Ridge also provides free professional services to women facing an unplanned pregnancy.
