Sunday Evenings: The Bible, Genesis - Revelation in One Year!

Manhattan Beach, CA
Join Dr. Creasy and your fellow Logos students as they continue their journey through the entire Bible, Genesis through Revelation! This is a fabulous course that offers a sweeping overview of the Bible, from Genesis 1 - Revelation 22. In his seminal book The Great Code, The Bible and Literature, the great literary critic Northrop Frye writes that to understand the Bible it is necessary to read it from cover to cover as many times as is necessary to understand the shape of the narrative.
Although written over a period of 1,500 years by at least 44 different authors, each book passing through the hands of editors and redactors, and each book with its own more or less complex textual history, the Bible--in its final, finished form--has been experienced in western culture as a unified work. It has a beginning (Genesis), a middle (the Gospels) and an end (Revelation). The main character is God; the conflict is sin; and the theme is redemption.
Most people have experienced the Bible liturgically, and that is a very important component of our spiritual lives, but you have never expereinced the Bible as you will in this class!
The course consists of 40 class meetings, each meeting containing two lectures, for a total of 80 lectures. And each lecture has a huge amount of "enrichment" material on the Logos Bible Study web site: additional, indepth audio lectures; videos; written material . . . and more!
This 80-lecture course has been approved for 6 units of continuing education credit through the University of San Diego.
You've always wanted to read the Bible cover-to-cover--and understand it. This is your big chance!
