The Event is here. December 21st marks the winter solstice and end of the Mayan long count calendar. At Body Actualized, the date marks an Event; it celebrates many revolutions. ☼
The Event is a transition of our own creating, and we choose to awaken with the world.
We come together to experience the universal, the possible, and the present. An event is only a glimpse of the future, sending us excerpts of new fictions. For three nights and two days we slow down to listen, to co-create meaning, and co-write a new story. ∞

LARAAJI Venus Nadabrahmananda(LVN) has been performing in USA and abroad since late 1970’s creating shimmering, meditative tapestries with his innovative style of electric open tuned zither/harp. He was "discovered" by musician Brian Eno while playing his zither in Washington Square Park in 1979. They went on the following year to release the album Ambient 3: Day of Radiance, the third installment of Brian Eno's Ambient series. Since then, Laraaji has released a wide catalogue of albums and has captivated a peaceful global following. Body Actualized is beyond delighted to have Laraaji for this very special evening. ERIC FRASER is an accomplished bansuri flute player based in Brooklyn, New York (and Kolkata, India, where he learns from his guru, Pandit Gopal Roy). Eric is an exponent of a unique vocal style of North-Indian flute playing, which is known for it’s depth and purity. He has been learning intensively in the guru/sishya parampara tradition under the training of his guru Pt. Gopal Roy since 2003. With authenticity, pure tone, subtlety and maturity, Eric's playing is both emotionally and technically compelling, which immediately takes listeners on a journey. Eric is a 2011 Fulbright senior research scholar for Indian music, and has a diverse background playing for Indian classical dance, as well as in projects ranging from Jazz, World, New Age, Indie and more. Aside from playing Indian classical flute, Eric is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and a music therapist (MA, MT-BC) working with children.
EHREN has been playing tabla for over 17 years. A disciple of the great Pandit Anindo Chatterjee, he is an active performer as both a soloist and an accompanist. His recent review in the "Times of India," Kolkata called his solo performace "enthralling." Upcoming performances include a performance with young master vocalist Indrani Mukherjee on the 28th of April.
CAMILA CELIN began playing guitar at age 9. For the last 4 years she has been intensely studying the Indian Sarod. In Kolkata she learns from sarod player Sougata Roy Choudhury, and in New York she learns from sitar maestro Pandit Krishna Bhatt. In 2009 she was nominated for a Grammy for best world music album in a collaboration with slide guitar maestro Debashish Bhattacharya and has been an active performer in her native Colombia, the US and in India.
