Join us for a celebration of Americana at Soap Factory. We will kick off the evening with a crawfish boil and ice cold Summer Ale accompanied by the sounds of Minnesota's own Cactus Blossoms.
Our friend Ian Loether from Far North Spirits will be shaking up seasonal cocktails as Soap Factory artists Kenneth Steinbach and Steven Lang tour the gallery with guests.
Everyone will come together at the table for an American feast curated by Brooklyn Brewery Chef Andrew Gerson and Chef Thomas Boehmer of Corner Table. The meal will be paired with Brooklyn beers familiar, and rare. Expect some delicious suprises.
Brooklyn Brewery Chef Andrew Gerson, brings to the table ten years of culinary experience as a cook, educator and activist. As a graduate of the University of Gastronomic Sciences (Pollenzo, Italy) and an active member of Slow Food, Andrew demonstrates and represents Brewmaster Garrett Oliver's philosophy on beer and food. Andrew is currently travelling his way around the States, collaborating with some of the country’s most innovative chefs, like Marcus Samuelson (NYC), Chris Shepherd of Houston’s Underbelly, from Sea Change in Minneapolis Jamie Malone, and Paco Roberts of NOLA’s Dinner Lab. During The Mash tour, Andrew has picked up new culinary ideas and shared his own from Stockholm to Las Vegas and everywhere in between, bringing you farm-to-table cuisine steeped in regional flavors, with a dash of Brooklyn fortitude sprinkled in for good measure.
After beginning his career with Hotel Sofitel and working under chef Alain Ducasse (Mix), Chef and Co-owner Thomas Boemer learned to craft European influenced midwestern cuisine with a touch of southern sensibility. At Corner Table in South Minneapolis, as well as the soon to open Revival, also in the Kingfield Neighborhood, he looks to highlight the bounty of the Midwest with refined seasonality and an emphasis on the integrity of the ingredient.
The Soap Factory celebrates its 25th year as a laboratory for artistic experimentation and innovation, dedicated to supporting artists and engaging audiences through the production and presentation of contemporary art in a unique and historic environment.
