Get Stoked on Your Coast!
Take the Director Seat and join Heal the Bay in a day of film making!
Heal the Bay invites young California filmmakers in grades 5-12 to express their obsession with the ocean by creating a short film for our first ever Student Film Festival. Tell the story about your connection to our lovely waters, and celebrate the vibrance of the ocean! Whether it’s mild, wild, silly or serious, your film should be as fresh and original as you are!
Check out the Contest site here: Healthebay.org/Stoked
To help students prepare for this summer's contest, we are bringing out all our high school and college student friends to our Aquarium underneathe the Santa Monica Pier for a half-day training on Storytelling and Filmmaking! Enjoy workshops on Messaging, Narrative, and Camera Work, and get ready to take your story from Experience to Submission!
Any interested Schools and clubs should send student representatives that take the day's training materials back to the campus to recruit their film making teams in order to ensure enough space for all of our wonderful partners. Each representative attending the workshop should register above (so that we can get an accurate count for food and materials).
*Participants will arrive to Lunch and Networking activities in our Green Room, and should come with their own plates and utensils (to support Zero Waste).
