Event Details

Hop aboard for the screening of Streetcar Stories and join us in celebrating the opening of the new Loyola streetcar line. Winner of awards from the American Association for State & Local History & the National Educational Media Network and screened at the American Film Institute Videofest & the Museum of Modern Art’s New Documentary Series, this documentary follows the tracks that have woven together the everyday lives of New Orleanians. Including stories by jazz legends Danny and Blue Lu Barker, author Andrei Codrescu and narrated by entertainer Philip Melancon, this broadcast documentary made with contributive developers, LEH and WYES-TV will also highlight a slide show of previously unpublished historic images. Doors open at 5:00 pm. Screening and Q&A at 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Free to the public.
