Superposing an installation made up of traditional roof tiles from the South of France, American and French urban cultures collide, intertwine and marry, setting the stage for the G. Bistaki Dance Company to take Atlanta on a creative, dreamlike journey that offers a new vision of space and architecture.
Dancers build, encounter and interact in this urban public space, inviting audiences to see themselves, their city, and one another with fresh perspective.
In this aspect, the project involves an interaction with the city itself as an artistic medium. The idea is to bring dancers into the American urban landscape to underline the reality of living together in a modern metropolis that has a past of segregated communities.
Allegory of conflict and of non-judgment, dancers and tiles give a message of peace— because even if things shock and break, they continue to dance together in a coherent simplicity.
