Event Details

Come enjoy the outdoors and make a difference with Mountains Restoration Trust and Heal the Bay!

The Arroyo Sequit creek at Leo Carrillo State Park is being restored so endangered Southern California Steelhead Trout can use it for spawning. Two concrete barriers are being removed by State Parks, it's up to volunteers like you to take out the invasive plants. Cape Ivy is the primary target; it's toxic to fish and other aquatic life so removing it is key to restoring the historic spawning grounds.

The best part of this event is once you're done restoring the creek, the beach is right there waiting for you!

Please wear sturdy shoes - long pants and a long-sleeved work shirt are strongly recommended. Bring plenty of water and a snack and a sunscreen/hat. Be prepared to get dirty. Gloves and tools will be provided. In the unlikely event of heavy rain, the restoration will be cancelled and you can sign up for a restoration event scheduled for a later date. We will notify you by email in the event of a cancellation. - See more at: http://www.healthebay.org/event/habitat-restoration-leo-carrillo-state-park-1#sthash.X6I4bSm6.dpuf
