In 2006 Tom relocated to San Francisco to join Apple as an Art Director, specializing in packaging design.
In 2009 he founded Manual. In a short time Manual has built an international reputation for producing intelligently crafted identity design for clients in technology, fashion, food, and culture.
Tom is also founder and publisher of Loose Leaf — a Manual-published and large-format art publication. Loose Leaf commissions and publishes works from artists, photographers, and designers worldwide.
The Almanac Beer Company was founded in 2010 by Jesse Friedman and Damian Fagan. We brew farm-to-barrel seasonal ales to be enjoyed alongside the seasonal cuisine of the San Francisco Bay Area.
Farm-to-barrel brewing is about selecting the best in locally sourced fruit and blending it into beers inspired by the great brewing traditions of the world. We aim to create something special and uniquely Northern Californian. Jesse and Damian collaborated to found the Almanac Beer Company—a brewery dedicated to producing seasonal artisan ales, brewed specifically to complement local cuisine sourced and prepared with the same great care and craft.
When & Where
Inspired by Creative Mornings, each event similarly includes a 20 minute lecture, followed by a 20 minute group discussion -- except for it doesn't take place in the morning and invites even uncreative types. Guests roll in after work around 6:30pm, talk starts at 7:00 pm and ends by 8:00 pm, though we encourage lingering.
Even if you don't call yourself a designer, a writer, a strategist or a creative type, you belong here. Join us, won't you?
