The Princess awaits your arrival...

The grand Mount Washington Resort was a dream brought to life for self-made millionaire and New England native, Joseph Stickney. It took over two years, 250 Italian artisans, and $1.7 million dollars to build the hotel, which had its grand opening in 1902. Just one year after the hotel’s completion, Mr. Stickney died suddenly, leaving the hotel to his wife, Princess Carolyn, who continued to summer at the hotel every year until her own death, over a decade later.

Since then, many guests of the hotel have come to believe that Princess Carolyn never completely left. Her apparition has been reported throughout the hotel and there is even a place set for her in the hotel dining room every evening. Perhaps most famously, the TAPS team, featured on the SyFy network show, Ghost Hunters, recorded clear EVP’s of the Princess conversing with them. That ghostly conversation seemed to indicate that Carolyn is still very much present at the hotel, but either unsure or perhaps unaware of what time period she is in.

In addition to the ghost of the Princess, there have many reports of paranormal activity within the hotel including: children running the halls, a dark figure haunting the new spa wing, and the presence of a resident spirit belonging to an old employee who is rumored to have committed suicide in the staff quarters of one of the towers.

When you join Strange Escapes for this three-night event, you will not only be looking for ghosts in areas of the hotel that aren’t open to the public at any other time, you’ll be surrounded by stunning, mountainside scenery while staying in one of the most luxurious, historical properties in New England.

Attendance to this event will be limited, so register early, as it is sure to sell out.

We have negotiated significantly reduced rates for our guests at the Mount Washington Resort:

Main Hotel: $239 a night (does not include resort fee)

Once you purchase your tickets, please call the Mount Washington Resort at 603-278-1000 and make sure to state that you are a guest of Strange Escapes in order to reserve your room at the reduced rates. “Our Spooky Kooky World” with John Tenney

With the rise of “spiritualism” in the 1800?s the world moved into acceptance of an existence after death. Since that time millions of reports have made ghosts and hauntings a part of our day-to-day life. Is there credible evidence inside of the massive amount of reporting on this widely accepted phenomena? How/Why do people become “ghost-hunters”? Why, if there is so much evidence to the reality of these phenomena do scientists reject the findings and consider it a “far-fringe” belief? The choice is one each has to make for him/herself.

“Ghost Hunters Panel” with Grant Wilson, Amy Bruni and Adam Berry

A no holds barred question and answer session with the fan favorites of the popular SyFy network show, Ghost Hunters.

Strange Escapes, LLC

What if you could go somewhere for a weekend where everyone shares your curiosity for the unusual or, at the very least, they can understand your desire to seek answers to the unexplained? Strange Escapes is that place.

Our founder, Amy Bruni, knows what a wonderful opportunity it is to get fellow seekers of the strange together in one place to learn, laugh and eventually – stumble around in the dark looking for signs of something ghostly. As an investigator and historian on the SyFy network show Ghost Hunters since 2007, Amy knows a thing or two about the paranormal, and she has proven herself to be a skilled lecturer and successful organizer of paranormal events on both a large and intimate scale.

Every Strange Escapes event will feature in depth investigations of some of the largest, most haunted locations in the United States. Plus, lectures from paranormal notables, television personalities, authors and more. You will shake their hands, pick their brains, and perhaps even sit down to dinner with them. You will learn and see things you never knew were possible, and you will leave knowing that you’re not alone in your beliefs. And if you don’t believe in anything supernatural or paranormal but instead, want the opportunity to explore a different perspective? You will be welcomed with open arms. We love skeptics too. Mostly.

This is your chance to do something a little different, to come home with a story to tell unlike any other. This is the opportunity of a lifetime.
