Isabel Toledo is an award-winning designer and artist world famous for (among many other creations) the lemongrass ensemble worn by First Lady Michelle Obama for the 2009 presidential inauguration.
Ruben Toledo is an artist and sculptor whose fashion illustrations have appeared in Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Elle, Visionaire, and the New York Times. He has created the visual fashion vocabulary for many prestigious retailers, including Nordstrom and Louis Vuitton.

A conversation with artists Isabel and Ruben Toledo, moderated by the Boston Globe's style writer Christopher Muther
This event, hosted by the MassArt Fashion Design Department, will benefit the International Institute's Stitching Studio, an innovative job-skills training program that teaches new Americans sewing techniques, fabric knowledge, and basic fashion design. It was launched in 2011 and works with students from Bhutan, Iraq, Eritrea, and Somalia. Students also learn industry-specific English vocabulary, develop marketable skills, and build portfolios to help them find jobs in the textile industry.
