At the Tiger Woods Foundation (TWF), we believe every child deserves an opportunity to pursue a college education. The focus of our work is to provide educational opportunities to underserved youth worldwide, with an emphasis on college access, particularly for first-generation college students. We work collaboratively and strategically with local schools (public, private and charter) as well as community-based programs to provide innovative education to youth. Our students discover educational content in subject areas like forensic science, robotics, aerospace, engineering and biotechnology. They learn these subjects in an interactive, hands-on environment from highly skilled staff committed to the success of every child. Through exposure to various STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) based careers, students who never considered college begin formulating a plan to attend. For more information on our programs, please visit www.tigerwoodsfoundation.org.
The TWF Career & College Conference focused on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) is a half-day of hands-on specialized instruction, offering a range of career and college preparation workshops for middle and high school students, their parents and educators.
Organizations will host workshops and/or have a booth at our expo. The primary goal of the STEM Career Conference is to inspire students to learn about various industries in these fields and discover possible career paths. Parents are also invited to attend and learn how to support students in their desire to pursue college for a STEM career. There will be a customized track of concurrent workshops for students and parents. The program is open to students in 7th through 12th grade and parents.
The program is free to attend and continental breakfast and lunch will be provided for all participants. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m., with program starting at 9:00 a.m.
