San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
This summer Generation Infocus will offer a fun-filled STEM and Zero Robotics SPHERES Competition for 6th -- 8th grade students. During the STEM portion, students will solve engineering challeneges, investigate virtual labs and create digital projects related to water, infrastructure and energy.
The Zero Robotics SPHERES Competition is offered in conjunction with Georgia Institute of Technology (Ga Tech), NASA, MIT and other additional technology savvy sponsors. Over the course of a 5-week program, participants will work in 2 teams of 10 students (total 20) to learn about computer programming, robotics and space engineering while gaining hands-on experience working with coding SPHERES.
SPHERES: Synchronized Position, Hold, Engage, Re-orient Experimental Sattelites.
The program culminates in a tournament where each team's SPHERE satellite will compete for spots to operate and race one another on the International Space Station (ISS) !!
At the end of the summer program, participants will get to see SPHERES in space via a live feed and have a conversation with Space Station astronauts who 'referee' the race.
When & Where
