State of Women & Girls in Santa Clara County
Friday, March 23, 2012 at 9:00 AM (PDT)
One of the most significant investments we can make today has seemingly gone unnoticed and untapped, if reports and economic forecasts from leading organizations in Silicon Valley are any indication. It is shocking how little focus there is on the specific impact on, and needs of, women and girls in major publications of Silicon Valley. As we seek new solutions and ideas to move our economy forward, address the social problems that continue to plague our community, and find ways to create a healthier and more sustainable environment, we often overlook the overwhelming evidence that exists about the tremendous, high-yield benefits of investing in efforts to advance women and girls.
Join us for the release of the State of Women and Girls in Santa Clara County, a report which will provide a compelling look at how women and girls are faring locally in four policy areas: health, economics, violence and crime, and education. This briefing will provide essential information for every decision-maker, grantor, community-based organization, local government official, human rights advocate, women & girls activist, and business leader in Silicon Valley.
Event includes keynote, data briefing, and light reception to accompany the release of this report.
Following this event will be a 2 month period for community feedback to inform the OWP Women & Girls Policy Agenda (which will be released at the Women's Equality Day celebration on August 24, 2012).
This is a free event but RSVP is required. RSVP today to save your seat! For more information:
